St. Lucia Aquatics Federation Staged a Successful Independence Swim Meet

St. Lucia Aquatics Federation Staged a Successful Independence Swim Meet

In celebration of Saint Lucia 40th Independence Anniversary, the St. Lucia Aquatics Federation staged a successful Independence Swim Meet March 3rd at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Center.

With seven clubs competing the combined results scores were as follows:

1st Place Sea Jays Swim Club 729 Points

2nd  Place Sharks Swim Club 636 Points 

3rd  Place Lightning Aquatics Swim Club 343 Points

4th  Place Southern Flying Fish 200 Points 

5th  Place RR Aquatic Swim Club 176 Points

6th  Place Swim Club, St. Lucia 45 Points

7th Place Sail Fins Team 41 Points

Four age group records were broken by 18 and Over, Mikaela Casimir breaking the 50m Fly and 9 – 10 Antoine Destang breaking three records in the 100 Free, 50 Fly and 100 Fly.

SLAF congratulates the Seajays Swim Club on their win and the Age Group Record Breakers.

The Federation now turns its attention to The Carifta Swim Championship to be held in Barbados April 20th to 24th. To date twelve swimmers have qualified namely Tristan Dorville, Karic Charles, D’Andre Blanchard, Ziv Reynolds, Catlin Polius, Naima Hazell, Naekeisha Louis, Mikaili Charlemagne, Jayhan Odlum Smith and Terrel Monplaisir. Also qualifying so far are swimmers Katie Kyle and Ethan Dyke Elliott but are unable to compete this year. SLAF swimmers will have two other opportunities to qualify in March with the hope of representing Saint Lucia.

SLAF will also be preparing to host Miage Swimming Championship where a number of islands to include clubs from Martinique will be here in our pool waters to compete April 6th and 7th. Included on SLAF immediate agenda is also the hosting of World Record Breaker, Alia Atkinson Clinic staged for April 26th – 28th.
