Saint Lucia OECS Swim Team is Chosen

St. Vincent and The Grenadines will be the home of the 29th Edition of the OECS Swim Championship scheduled from November 8th to 10th 2019, at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Center.Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Martinique, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Saint Lucia will take the plunge in an attempt to dethrone Grenada, the champions of the 28th Edition, held last year in Antigua.Though a preliminary team was selected, the final team was chosen after the Capri Sun OECS Swim Trials, held this past weekend at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Center. The top swimmers were automatically selected to include the Federations overseas base swimmers who were available to participate, with the fastest times. He also noted his appreciation to the international swimmers who were able to take time off to join the team in the chase of the ultimate goal.With an overall budget of just over $99000, SLAF alongside the parents of swimmers are engaging in fundraising activities to assist in the cost associated with the teams participation. Fundraising activities include a Back in Time Party October 19th at the St. Lucia Yacht Club and a grand Raffle.SLAF thanks National Lotteries Authority, Saint Lucia Olympic Committee, Digicel and parents who have so far made contributions.END
