Seven off to Barbados to represent Saint Lucia in the upcoming CCCan

Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation this year 2015 will be hosted in Barbados. This meet will see the likes of Columbia, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and the English speaking Caribbean Countries, swimming to earn their places on the podium. In total 28 countries will compete.
As per required qualifying times of two AAA (Triple A), a mark set higher than the AA (double A) qualifying times required for Carifta, seven of St. Lucias’ competing swimmers earned their way through to represent St. Lucia. Most of these swimmers achieved these times at the 2015 Carifta meet which was also hosted in Barbados.
Representing St. Lucia will be
Jordon Augier – A club member of the Sharks Swim Club, St. Lucias’ male swimmer of the Year 2014, St. Lucian student attending the University of Tampa, working his way to qualify to represent his country in the Summer Olympics in Rio 2016.
Josha Runako Daniel – Also a member of the Sharks Swim Club, representing St. Lucia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and having competed against the best swimmers in the USA
Terrel, Jayhan, Ethan, and Jammar, all members of the Sea Jays Swim Club
Terrel Monplaisir – Student of the St. Mary College, Junior Swimmer of the Year 2014, recently bringing home three individual medals, one silver and two bronze and part of the 11 – 12 Relay team also bringing home 3 medals
Jayan Odlum Smith – Student of the Corinth Secondary School, part of the 11- 12 relay team contributing to three of the medals attained by the squad for the 2015 Carifta Swim Meet
Ethan Dyke Elliott – better known as Speedy Dyke Elliott, a student of the St. Marys College, also part of the silver and bronze Carifta team 11 – 12 winners.
Jammar Archibald – Also a student of the St. Mary College and 11 -12 winning relay team member
Katie Kyle – Club member of the Sharks swim club, first 2015 swimming silver medalist for the Carifta games and only St. Lucian female qualifier for CCCan

The team is expected to leave St. Lucia June 21st to return on 28th . These CCCan qualifiers will continue to train with their clubs in the upcoming weeks, and as a team, with some assistance from SLASA with facilitating additional pool time.
