SLASA Swimmers Urge Saint Lucians to keep Saint Lucia Clean

Saint Lucia Amateur Swimming Association embarked on a clean-up drive on Pigeon Island on Sunday November 29th. Approximately 50 swim members from the various swim clubs to include The Sea Jays Swim Club, Sharks Swim Club, Racers, Lightning Aquatics and Sports Academy assembled at 7am ready to make a difference in the area.

With well over 100 bags of garbage gathered, the swimmers realised it would take a lot more than a couple of hours and more hands to achieve the goal of ridding the area of its filth, an area which appears to be a dumping ground for many.

SLASA Swimmers are appealing to Saint Lucian to not only keep our beaches clean but our environs. They are encouraging our citizens to stop littering and dispose of garbage the right way.

SLASA would like to thank The Landings for its assistance in providing transportation for the proper disposal of the trash collected and to the Coaches and parents who ensured that the kids where present to assist.
