The Montessori Centre and St. Joseph’s Convent emerge winners of primary and secondary school’s swimming competition.
On Friday morning, 20th May, 2016, eight primary schools participated in the much anticipated primary schools’ swimming competition. The young swimmers gave their best. However it was The Montessori Centre which secured first place with a combined team score of 258 points. Bonne Terre Preparatory School came in second with 221 points, third place was secured by the Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School with 178 points, fourth place went to the Tapion Primary School with 172 points, followed by Camille Henry Memorial Primary School with 92 points. Sixth, Seventh and Eighth place went to the Ave Maria Primary School (37 points), Laborie Girls Primary (32 points) and Seventh Day Eucharist Primary Schools (11 points) respectively. In the afternoon session, nine (9) secondary schools engaged in friendly rivalry to capture the title of 2016 Secondary Schools’ Swimming Champions. At the end of the compettition, it was the St. Joseph’s Convent which captured the first place trophy girls and overall championship trophy. They were able to outperform Leon Hess Secondary, which came in second with a combined boys and girls score of 240.5, followed closely by St Mary’s College with a boys’ score of 240 points and also captured first place trophy boys, Corinth Secondary school (120 points), Vieux Fort secondary (86.5 points), Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary (76 points), Seventh Day Adventist Secodary (34 points) Castries Comprehensive Secondary (26 points) and Beanfield Secondary (9 points). secschool individual score2016, secschool team score2016
